A Happy Father's Day Indeed

This Father's Day was a very special day not only for the nice gifts I received from Carrie and James (A leatherman t-200 all purpose tool and a nice picture frame) but James also took his first steps while visiting his great grandmother (maw Ruth). We were so proud of him. He still has not mastered the whole walking thing but we are well on our way. James turned 13 months on the 21st and is doing so well at learning new things and doesn't seem to be afraid to try anything. He absolutely loves taking a bath and playing in his swimming pool. He now eats almost anything we put in front of him. (I did say almost) veggies are still not on his favorites list but he does try. He loves to eat cheese toast with me in the mornings and he tried salmon the other day and really liked it. He still only has eight teeth but they seem to do the job quite well. He will eat just about any meat you give him. Meat seems to be his favorite thing to eat, so I guess a vegetarian is not his style. He has also discovered cheese puffs which he now takes bites off of without shoving the whole thing in his mouth. But his mommy is still on full alert when he eats them in case the heimlich maneuver is needed. We are all excited about going to Leakey next Thursday. The whole clan is going to be there and James will get to meet lots of cousins, aunts and uncles and I'm sure we will have a great time seeing everyone.

He's walking! That is so exciting, but probably really nerve-wracking as well.

Sarah does not like meat. Maybe we can get James to give her his veggies, and she'll give him her meat. They're a perfect pair! We can hardly wait to see all of you. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun!
